QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • How quickly do they dry?

The pens dry a couple of seconds after application. My estimate is that they dry after 20 seconds, give or take a couple of milliseconds.

  • What are the names of the colors that come with this set?

The names of the colors come in Japanese, so I can't read them.

  • Are these pens made in China?

These pens were made in Japan, so I can see why you are confused. The japanese and chinese characters tend to look a like.

  • What's the best paper for these types of gell pens?

These gelly pens shine the best against a black paper. Though, it can work well with any other color paper, like red paper or blue paper.

  • Does it require any special preparation to make the 3D effect?

The 3d effect is noticable as soon as you apply it onto the paper. It is even more obvious against black paper.

Brand: Sakura

Details:

This is a nice set of soufflé gelly pens that I own. They produce a nice 3-d effect. Still, they do work a lot better on black paper. The soufflé pens are part of the gelly pen series of the Sakura brand. Sakura is mainly known for its mangaka pens. Most people do not know that this brand has produced gelly pens. All of them are of archival quality, and pigment based too. These gelly pens come with Prime. As such, they ship from the US, so they get to your house rather quickly. I hope you find them as useful as I found them. The set comes with 10 gelly pens in a cute chibi package. Most of Japanese products have cute packaging. The price is fair for the quality of the product you get.
