This is one of the my old photos that I took during my trip to Cartagena, Colombia. Tourist visit there all the time. Coiling around the mountain or whatever, are the Colombia equivalent of the favela. It was nice of our tour guide not to pretend that they were not there. Most tour guides then to offer the glamorized version of the history of a certain place.

Tourists prefers the pretty version. Many get upset when they hear the truth. They be like, "I am on vacation, I don't want a bummer trip." When I visited Honduras, Rotan the tour guided pretended that the corals were alright. I do not enjoy being lied to. Well, it was Rotan. The moment I stepped foot there I told mother that the country was boiling and I was right. In less than a month, the entire in turmoil. It's been like that since October.

So, whenever you visit a place do read up a bit. You don't want to end up dead, kidnapped or seriously injured. This is part of the reason why I am not too keen on visiting Europe or Israel. Since I am not much in a traveling mood, my family invested in remodeling the kitchen. There is no need to travel much if your home is dandy.
