About Golden
The Golden company was founded by 1930s, at the start of the depression. The founder Sam Golden together with his uncle started producing hard-ground oil colors. Their first shop was in the 15th Street in Manhattan. Aside from selling paints, the shop became the favorite place of New York artists from the 1930s to the 1950s. Painters like Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning graced the doorways of the Golden shop. During one of those visits an artist gave Sam some honey resin and asked him to make paint with it. After much experimentations, Golden formed what would become modern day acrylic paints. It was thanks to the loyalty of artist that the Golden company is still alive today. Aside from oils and acrylics, Golden has produced watercolor paint tubes. As far as painting is concerned, Golden is the ideal brand for professional painters.
