Today, I did a Hollow Knight x Titanic parody. I had the Pale King and the White lady taking the role of Jack and Rose.
Their Bugtanic ship crashed in Greenpath. Due to his arrogance, the Pale King didn’t add any life rafts.
He assumed that his Bugtanic ship was unsinkable. When his ship sank, only the floating door was able to save him and his wife.
As gamers might remember, Greenpath is covered in acid. The White Lady is on top of the wooden door that is barely containing her massive weight.
There is simply not room enough for her and the Pale King. The Pale King is super chill about it. He has Isma’s Tear that protects his body from Acid.
So, he is just a little worse for wear. Only, his ceremonial robes are getting corroded by the acid lake. The idea seemed good on paper. I finished the lineart in less than two hours.
Once, it came time to add the colors on photoshoot, this is where the problems began. Trying to make bubbling acid on photoshoot is pretty difficult.
I spent most of the time working on the water effects. In the future, I got to remember that rendering liquids is difficult.
The bubbles stamp tool was a must for making the acid look believable. I think I ranted enough about my newest Hollow Knight parody.
