Dritz is one of the oldest sewing companies in the US. It was founded in the 1920s. It started as a family business housed in New York City. They originally specialized in making beaded handbags. During that time, the company was known as John Dritz & Sons. The company developed new types of sewing motions and devices. They created seam rippers, zippers and the electronic scissors. Around 1969, the Dritz family sold their business. It passed by many hands till 1988. It was then acquired by the Prym family. It became in 2005, the Prym-Dritz Corporation. This is Dritz in a nutshell. The main supplies offered are for sewing. You can get anything needed to sew, except for the fabrics. I will have fabrics, but they will be provided by a different brand.
