The company Holbein took its name and inspiration from the great European painter Hans Holbein. The company was founded in 1930. Currently, their main office is in Osaka Japan. Since its foundation Holbein has had a significant presence in Southeast Asia, Australia, Europe and North America. It is one of the largest manufacturers of professional artist materials. They mostly trade in paints, but they also dabble in pencils and paper products. The company houses three color chemist. Via the ancient methods of alchemy, they produce some of the finest pigments to date. Just kidding, they use Science! Though, wouldn’t it have been more interesting if they used alchemy. Via these chemist, they maintain quality control. Each bash of paint has the same consistency. Unlike other companies, Holbein does not bother to produce student or entry level paints. These paints are for artists who actually have a clue what they are doing. The paints have beautiful hues and an element of permanence, that can only be matched by the works of the true Holbein painter. As far as this company is concerned, they prefer quality over quantity.
