I made this drawing a couple of days ago. I am almost done with my series of pretty dresses and the like. I have already lost track of all the dresses that I posted. I should have done so in order. Now, I will just limit myself to posting all the new ones. Now, it is a bit problematic to post new stuff for the artsy sister website. People have responded a lot better to the drawings, than the photos. Oh! Boy, it is all so time consuming to take care of your very own website. I have been itching to read something new for a change. As of late, I have been showing preference to educational books. I am not too big on fiction, for the moment. IF the book teaches me a little something, then it has my attention.

As of late, I was feeling a bit nostalgic. The only prolonged job I ever held was at the library. I used to process all the new books. While I was there, there was no book held back on the roster. At the time, I was studying Hinduism. That religion taught me about Dharma. If you do your job, without worrying about the fruits of your actions you find inner peace. You do not generate any Karma, because intention and worrying generates Karma. Even if you deliberately do nothing, you are technically generating Karma. Anything you do with intent, generates Karma. While I was there, I never worried about my low wages. As such, I was able to focus on my job. I did a lot of reading while there. I whipped up an audiobook, while I process the books. Though my hands passed all the new books of FIU. I putted stickers on them. It is factory style job.

I never had an issue with repetitive tasks. Whenever my brother needed someone to upload things for his site, he always called me. I was always very organized. Making lists, and checking them, and organizing them is something I do naturally. I think I miss a bit the library work. I am not referring the library work I did while in the first floor. I had two managers who used to hover me. They had me do both their works. I was so efficient, that they always added new tasks for me. I would always finish before the clocking out. I got so efficient with the clocking system that I got inside at 8:00 AM and left at 10:00 AM. It was a type of work study. This was back when that mean something. Ever since the new deans got in FIU, I knew the University was going to turn terrible. Indeed, it did get bad. The prices just kept going up and up. They raise the tuition indirectly through tuition differential. It gets real expensive towards the end of the majors. They also give you plenty of classes that are required, but are not related to your major, nor do they count. It is a lot cheaper and easier to do your career in another country, and then do the boards in the US. It is no wonder students are so frustrated. I also noticed that depending on your political affiliation, you get higher TDs.

While I was in college, I was democratic. Since I was an out spoken democrat, I was able to graduate without an issue. All the republicans I know had a harder time graduation from school. I think it is a type of institutional discrimination. All that work for nothing. Despite graduating, I still have not done anything with my major. It also doesn’t help that the stupid school renamed Journalism Major as the Science of Communication. I mean, just how stupid are those FIU folks? Communication is not a science, it is an artform. This is why writing is always called Language Arts. All in all, education in the US is a mess. Trust me, you are better off going to another country if you want to actually learn something. If you only know English, there is plenty of places that speak your language. Just Google English Speaking countries. Those who are bilingual have more options. I suppose some things cannot be helped. Parents and students are too trustful of institutions. I think if you just take away all the electives and requirement classes from majors, people would actually graduate in half the time. This is not an issue that is going to be fixed anytime soon. People are too docile, and do not see the true social problems. They also lack organization, and their too focused on self-indulgence to bother about marching and complaining. The student force is divided along party lines, but there are issues that affect both democrats and republicans. If they united, they would be more powerful.

I suppose somethings cannot be helped. I have already lost all hope on this generation, and the previous one too. I feel like I am surrounded by fools. What seems to clear for me, it obscured to others. Well, this is enough of my verbal ramblings. People never seem to ever pay me any mind. As long as I say what they like, then I have a large audience. You know how I did change party affiliations? I played Tropico 5. I tried doing things as a democrat and my tropical island went to hell. When I did things as a Republican, I won all my elections. My approval ratings were always 89. Play that game, and see how your social values hold up in the grand scheme of things. People always see things from their own perspective. They cannot see past their own selfishness. Well, let us move things along.

The maiden I drew is from Britain, circa 1830. I drew her dress orange, because there is not a lot of dresses colored orange. Orange is a pretty color and I find it quite adorable. It took like an hour to complete. The pencil colors belong to an Art 101 set. I also used a tiny Derwent Colorsoft pencil. The sketch version was done with a Royal and Langnickel pencil. The lines were drawn with a set of Stabilo Mini pens. I also added a bit of glitter on the hair ornament. It was done with my Sakura gelly pens. The paper was taken from Leda Art Supply. I bought a small notebook set.
