It shows the value of quality over quantity. Magi is inspired on 1001 Nights. Overlord features an OP main character dealing with weirdoes in another world. Record of Londoss War was the Japanese answer to Dungeons and Dragons.
They created the fantasy cliché of a blonde elf maiden, who is inexplicably in love with the main character. Slayers has a lot of episodes. It is thrives in the comedy and chemistry of the main characters.
