Miami Beach has a lot of public beaches. My teacher told me that if you are in a public spot, it is ok to take as many photos as you like. As long as you are not in a place where you are expected some degree of privacy, you can shoot away. Anyhow, this brings me to this photo. It is of one of many photographers who are in Miami Beach. I always find it amusing to take photos of them. They are so focus on their work that they do not notice me taking their picture. Talk about flipping it on them. Most of the time, they are photographing seagulls.
Seagulls are some of the most photogenic birds out in the market. There are more photos of Seagulls than any other type of bird. I should do an exposition about seagulls. We get a bunch of photographers and we each showcase our best seagull photo. That thought makes me smile. There is a comic element about it and I have a bit of a funny bone. One of my best work was of a Chinese family doing a cliché. They had the tripod and everything. They did the peace sign and said cheese. My photography teacher found it quite humoring.
She always warned the students about photographic clichés. I took the high road on that one and took a photo of a family doing just that. It would not be a cliché if it happened often enough. So, this brings me back to this fellow. This was the one and only time I saw her taking candid pics. She probably was a tourist visiting for the first time. She caught Miami Beach on a good day. Lately, there has been a bad algae that is killing all the fishes. It is real sad. Hopefully, the beach will get better.
