Scary Cat with Birthday Cake

I recently got around to completing my new Scary Cat kids book. This one focuses on her meeting a birthday mime that she is afraid of.
I was at first going to do clowns, but I thought that mime would be something more original. The mime is at a friend’s house.
Scary Cat was invited to someone else’s birthday party, so she did not know about the mime. Anyhow, I wanted to show you one of my favorite drawings from my book.
I drew an amassing looking cake. When you go to someone else’s birthday party, you spend most of the time eyeing the cake. Well, this at least my experience. I was always pondering when they were going to cut the cake.
I added to the cake a lot of Kawaii elements. The overall style of the manga is kawaii. The book features the color red predominantly. I thought it would be a nice way to thematically link all the scenes.
Anyhow, this is just the raw page of the book. Her lines are “When are they going to cut the cake?”. Haven’t we all been there at some point of our life?
If you like the book, it is called Scary Cat and Birthday Mime. It teaches you the quickest way to get over one’s fear of clowns or in this case mimes.
It is a great gift for someone you know is afraid of clowns. I made my turtle mime super creepy looking. Teehee. This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, Bye and God bless.
