Sheng Anime Music Instrument Drawing

This is one of a couple of nice anime drawing of mine. It is themed after a lovely musical instrument called Sheng. I like it cause it looks like a pipe. The maiden I drew wears a nice Mori type of dress.
The red hair was also nice as well, with the cute green eyes. As for the instrument, it is a reed free instrument. It is one of the oldest Chinese musical instruments.
It was made around 1100 BC. I like saying BC, cause I am not a big fan of changing something I am familiar with. I also still consider Pluto a planet. It is just not fair to change the definition of stuff that has been the same for millennials.
The long and short of it is that lately I don’t like folks telling me how to think. These instruments where first mentioned in bone oracle writings. Some complete sets date as far back as the 7th century.
They get featured often in old paintings. The instrument now only gets played alone, and not with other instruments. Some new versions come with some keys. The Keyed version was invented around the 1950s.
They come in both reed, and some in chrome as well. Even if they are a bit gimmicky, the sheng should get used along with other instruments. If the sheng cannot bend, then it should be the dominant instrument in a composition.
It is such a pity that musicians lack imagination. It is always the same types of instruments, and even the same types of music. Why not get a little creative? Anyhow, if you are a bored musician, please do consider trying out the Sheng.
