This book is a complete survey of Western Children's fashion. It is a useful took for designers, historians, mangaka and comic book artists. 

The writer of the book has illustrated every type of apparel for kids from the present days, to ancient times. It has more than 750 color illustrations, focusing from the overall, to the minute details of kid's clothing. This book was useful since there is a lot of little kids in my comics. Children's fashion only got started during the 1800s. By then, the concept of leisure became commonplace. Also factories were influential in the development of the concept of children. Before then, children were treated as miniature adults.

Due to the detrimental factory conditions children's right's rights were advanced. This change in perspective is noted in the clothing. Now, the attires were made keeping child proportions in mind. No longer were rich girls forced to wear corsages. Those items would damage the ribs of toddlers. All, in all, it was a real mess back then. The centerfold photo illustrates my favorite time period for children attires. Now that I think about it, I used to wear dresses from that age. I always wore the dresses stored in those old wooden chests, that had my great, great, grandma's wedding attires. So, if you like old fashion attires here is the book for you.

  The book features English and US clothing. This is due to the fact that the writer is British. British people tend to still think of the US, as part of Britain and their culture. The people from Spain, also give the same treatment to South American. It's what former colonies have to deal with.

  The doll is actually rather big, and so is the book. It is bigger than a magazine. Due to the size, you can see plenty of details on the attires without having to squint your eyes.

  The book is mostly in colors. Between each chapter there are some pictures without color. They are there in the segments dedicated to describing the actual clothing.

  The book focuses most on the clothing from the Victorian era. Specifically from the 1850s to the 1900s. 

• What's the age range for the kids clothing featured in this book?

  The book features babies, toddler, kids and even teenager clothing. Just about everyone who fits within the child age range in the Western world. So, its from 0 to 17, for all you non Western fellows.
