Details: These US art supply canvas panels work dandy for students. The surface is quite texture. It minimizes paint absorption. It supports many different types of painting media, except for watercolor. The sides of the canvas are turned under. They are glued to keep it from separating from the canvas board. The overall canvas is glued to the board. The entire board is also acid free. I first  used the US Art Supply Canvas boards a couple of months ago. I had a couple as part of a different set. I recently got around to using them. They do what they are supposed to. It also takes glitter rather nicely. The featured painting is part of my Alice series. Your paintings will look just like this one.

• What is the thickness of these canvases?

  The canvas panels are pretty flat, almost two millimeters thick.

• How would you go about hanging these boards?

  I use velcro. It hangs it on the wall rather nicely, and it removes the need to nail it up.

• Will these paints work well with watercolor paintings?

  The canvases were designed for acrylic and oil painting. Watercolor is a bit too light to work with this type of canvas.

• Do I need to prime these canvases?

  All the canvases come primed. You do not need to prime these canvases with gesso. They are already ready to paint.

• Can I use these canvases to draw instead of painting?

  The surface of this painting is a bit too rough. I can draw enough on it, to get the sketching portion out of the way. Still, this canvas is for painting not for drawing.

• Will these canvases arrive safely when sent overseas?

  The canvases all come wrapped. They arrived rather safely, with the impact air cushions too.
