Suitable mediums include colored pencil, markers (be sure to put a piece of heavy paper or several sheets of normal weight paper between the pages if using markers). Many people also find using soft pastels, chalk and even eye shadow to be a fun way to cover larger areas. There are no rules when it comes to coloring! Just have fun and enjoy. Also, feel free to cut the pages out and scan them to print on heavier paper if you would like. I have even printed my own onto heavy watercolor paper and painted them! I suggest looking into the heaviest paper your printer will handle before trying this.
