Details: This is a nice little paper that that I own. I have been using it for quite a bit to make high quality watercolor paintings. I chose to photograph the blank paper to show you how it looks. I also showed you a finished watercolor painting. The paper belongs to the Strathmore 400 series. It is a type of heavyweight, cold press paper. It is designed for watercolor paintings. Watercolor paintings are pretty popular among artists. Just about every painting has done at least one watercolor painting.
This paper pad is designed for make a painting with even finishes. It is strong, so it is useful for lifting and scrapping paint applications. The paper is also naturally white. Strathmore considers its paper a type of artform. They designed specifically for painters. They have been making watercolor papers for the last 125 years. This paper pad also takes pen rather nicely. Are you able to paint on both sides of the paper?
One side is smooth and the other rough. It might not be the brightest idea.

What is the advantage of having a cold press paper?
This cold pressed absorbs color well, and evenly without bleeding through. The surface is rough, but it takes the paint rather well.

This strathmore paper pad is can handle most type of inks. Still, inkjet might bleed a little.

Is this 400 series paper worse than the 500 series paper?
With each new series, Strathmore makes new improvement. Ideally, the 500 series would be better. Still, this is a 400 series paper pad. As such, it has its own merit.
