Details: Chibies are small versions of characters from the Bible and they are adorable. This Book is meant to be viewed while reading the Bible to children. There are a few rules. Chibbies do not speak. They are born from eggs and they have very big heads with big eyes and tiny boddies. The Chiblia is meant to make reading the Bible easier to understand. Children can look at the pictures while you read the passages to them outloud. Have fun and God Bless.

I started this little project three years ago. I wanted to make my own chibi Bible. I do not know why I felt like doing so. I guess it was just something to do. Anyhow, I first drew the lineart and then I had my brother do the colors in Photoshop. This makes it easier to fix mistakes. Also, if I change my mind about the color scheme, it can easily be arranged. The comic was designed without words. You can look at the scene, in any language and read along your Bible. Ideally, you should not need it to get the gist of it.

The front cover was the last thing I designed. I painted the scene of the flood with acrylics. Inside two tears you have the original sin and Cain killing his brother Able. I also featured in this website the other versions of the front cover. This is how it should look like, right now. The book is cheaper on kindle. The front cover has a nice gloss to it. If you are curios about this Bible I drew you are welcome to buy it. All the money goes to keeping me from getting a day job.

  • Are all the costumes historical?

Most of the costumes worn by the characters are more or less historical, with a couple of exceptions. The Egyptians were finely rendered.

  • Is there any inconsistencies from the comic to the Bible?

Just some real, minor, minor thing. Like not including Jacob's 4 other lovers.

  • In what languages does this book come?

The manga was designed to work without words. I did not have any dialogue planned. I hoped to make almost all the scenes self explanatory. I also wanted people to have to read the Bible. If there is a scene you do not get, you can always read it up in the Bible. As such, there is a universality to this comic, since it is not bounded by language.

  • Why does the sun have a smiling face?

The sun smiling is a staple in almost all my comic books and manga projects. Even my written books, I mention the smiling face of the sun. It is just something I kept from my time as a little pudgy toddler.

  • Why is God a triangle?

I wanted to get away from the Greek depiction of God. He is always drawn like Zeus, and Zeus is not my God. I just wanted to do it differently.
