• This is a nice set of Derwent Coloring Pencils. This is set is full of soft core pencils great for mixing and blending pencils. It is the perfect marriage between pastels and color pencils. They have a wide range of colors, and a nice sturdy grip. 

• The entire set has about 24 color pencils, with a lot of strange cookie names like Acid Yellow or Blush Pink. Who comes up with those names? 
• The name Colorsoft implies that it has soft textures, that bring out the natural hues of these pastel pencils. This helps you build up with just one stroke. Perfect for building fancy drawings with bold colors, like landscapes and still lives. Its also perfect for portraits and other realism drawings.

Details: This is one of the first coloring pencils sets I bought. I have been using it for the last 5 years or so. The pencils have lasted this long, except for the black color pencil, which is worn down to just a few centimeters. The cores are very durable, and they are resistant to falling damage. I am a bit clumsy with my drawing supplies, I always tend to drop a pencil or two. The pencils have managed to avoid breaking most of the time. The colors blend and layer easily, or so Derwent claims. I am not big with color blending. I can usually finish with the drawings pretty fast. The color rangers from Acid Yellow to Gray White.

• Are these Derwent coloring pencils erasable?

  These coloring pencils do not erase well. Maybe it is my pentel eraser. 

• Does these coloring pencils come with names, like acid yellow and the like?

  The pencils do come with names and the like in addition to a letter and number referring to this type of pencil. 

• Does this set include a blending pencil?

  There aren't any blending pencils included on this set. The white pencil is to draw on black paper, and to make other colors lighter. 

• Will these Derwent coloring pencils work well for people white arthritis?

  I cannot say if it will work well for people with arthritis. It doesn't take too much pressure to make its marks, though. I don't know if this will help you or not.

• Will any old sharpener work with these pencils?

  I have tried regular sharpeners, but they did not work well. I would recommend one with adjustable holes, like the ones you see in public schools.
