Details: The food-grade room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) Silicone Mold Making Kit is a multipurpose silicone mold set used for various applications. Cast-a-Mold Platinum is a platinum/addition cured silicone mold rubber. The base and activator have low viscosities for easy pouring. Use the simple 1:1 mix ratio for a rubber material that exhibits: Excellent tear strength High tensile strength Impressive elongation Good heat deflection A long shelf life This product is great for making rubber molds. You can use these molds with various casting materials such as epoxy, polyurethane, food, and crafting materials. Try making molds for: Candies Cakes Soaps Candles Wax Plaster Polyurethanes Epoxies Polyesters Cement Concrete Low melt alloys Cast-a-Mold Platinum is easy to use and complies with FDA guidelines. This material cures at room temperature, but you can also use heat acceleration. Heating your molds at 150 degrees can cut the curing time from 8 hours to 45 minutes. Wash cured molds with soap and warm water before use, especially for food applications. Addition-cured silicone rubber can be inhibited by some materials which can leave the surface uncured and tacky. Avoid using nitriles, amines, clays with a sulfur base, and silicone rubber cured with latex or tin. You should test the material you want to use. Coating your mold with a clear acrylic lacquer can also be helpful.
