C & T Publishing have put this book together beautifully, and each project come with a small ‘history' of the designer and from which book the pattern has come from. Honestly, you will never have to buy another soft toy again. The Swedish Tomte Softie is adorable and one of my favourites. There are some pattern templates at the back of the book, some of which you have to photocopy up to a % size, but each project is colorful and very well explained. This is a book that will be a welcome addition to any crafters bookshelf and I know my copy is going to be well used. It includes 11 projects from designers such as Abby Glassenberg, Brenna Maloney, and Amy Adams. While most are animals, there's also a small cottage and foliage to build a village; a board an playing pieces for a game of chequers; an a 5in-tall mushroom house. The instructions are detailed―some illustrated with a series of step-by-step photographs, others with line drawings. If you're looking for a range of softie projects, this book represents excellent value. ( Australian Homespun, November 2017) These projects are not just the expected stuffed animals, the book includes instructions on how to make a felt village, cute mushrooms and a game. Many of these are simple enough that they can be one with children, introducing them to the fun of creating their own unique items. These toys all have personalities, and no doubt you will be immediately drawn to some of them. As you stitch, you will see them come to life and they will give little ones hours of fun, sparking their imaginations and helping with their development. High-quality photographs, clear diagrams, detailed instructions, and templates provide lots of guidance to help and older children will be able to create on their own, needing only a small amount of guidance and supervision.
