Details: Whether they are used for graphics, artistic free style or even colouring, Faber-Castell's Paygrade pencils can do the job. These high-quality, acid-free, vividly pigmented pencils are bonded with SV to prevent breakage, are light-fast, water-resistant and smudge-proof. Presented in a finest quality tin box of 12 pencils. Faber-Castell is one of the world's largest and oldest manufacturers of pens, pencils, other office supplies (e.g., staplers, slide rules, erasers, rulers) and art supplies, as well as high-end writing instruments and luxury leather goods. Headquartered in Stein, Germany, it operates 14 factories and 20 sales units throughout the globe. The Faber-Castell Group employs a staff of approximately 7,000 and does business in more than 100 countries. The House of Faber-Castell is the family which founded and continues to exercise leadership within the corporation. These Polygrades pencils were produced in the mid 19th century. Their inventor, Lothar von Faber, would have turned 200 years old this year. Lothar von Faber was responsible for standardization of degrees of hardness, as well as setting the standard for the length of the pencil which is still applied today. Staying as close to the historic original as possible, the anniversary version of the Polygrades are unsharpened because back then, they were cut to the correct shape by the user with a knife.
