It got this set as part of a birthdate gift. At the time that I asked for this set, I was having a bit of an issue with my Varnish. I was using my regular brushes to add Varnish. Since I do not have a solvent, the brushes were starting to get ruined. It was then when I decided to get brushes specifically designed for adding Varnish. This was a purely utilitarian decision. If you need to add some Varnish to your painting, this is the set for you.

    The brushes are made of a synthetic polymer. Polymers can take many different shapes. They are most commonly found on plastics. 

  • How long does the shipment in the US usually take?

    If you have prime, the products usually take at most 2 days. The same applies to this brush set, that comes with Amazon Prime.

  • What is the recommended solvent necessary to clean these brushes?

    I am not big on solvent. Normally, I clean the brushes with dish soap. Still, if I had to recommend anything by gamblin.

  • Can these brushes be washed after application of gesso?

    As far as gesso is concerned, it is best to wash the brushes before the gesso dries.
