Details: Product Description My system is not based on cookie cutter designs where I tell you to cut so many pieces of specific sizes. You'll learn to start with the outside dimensions of a piece, draw the design, and fill in parts that need to be built. You'll learn how to make your own patterns and go on to make unique miniature items. If you want a different scale, just start with different outside dimensions. This book teaches basic and advanced skills for building 1:12 scale miniature wooden furniture. It has 12 chapters covering 11 projects that lead the user through creation of tiny reproductions of real life-sized furniture. You'll learn how to: make your own patterns, mark and cut pieces without tedious fraction arithmetic, reproduce artwork even if you aren't an artist, make intricate acrylic trim, mount hinges, make your own hardware, upholster furniture without a pattern, and more. 285 color photographs illustrate the steps to fashion each of these miniature wooden pieces. About the Author As a child, I saw a fabulous dollhouse that toured the country. It had magical staircases and weeping willows that dripped water. I made some furniture when I was 8, but swore that someday I would have tools beside dressmaker pins and school paste. In 2012 I said it was time and started to make miniature furniture and dolls. Now I make miniature Gothic/Medieval, 18th Century, and modern/Asian furniture, along with dolls and period costumes, miniature needlepoint, quilts, hats and specialties like Native American style pottery and LED-powered fireplaces and lamps.
