I appreciate that Mr. Vogt allows that different part of the country have different terms for the same thing . . . Mr. Vogt strikes a very good balance. The rigor is right for the level of student I see-- not too remedial, and not beyond reach . . . Clear, concise narrative and excellent graphics I find the step-by-step procedures to be some of the strongest aspects of the book." "For its deft narrative and illustrations of a difficulty topic, I think chapter 43 (Hip Roofs) is quite strong." "[The strongest selling point of the Vogt text is] its clear concise use of language, both in tone and content, and excellent detailed drawings and step by step proceduresthe look of precision without obfuscation." "I think the writing in the unit [Unit 15] is exceptional in its manner of making the complex and potentially confusing subject of roof framing as clear as possible." :"The vocabulary, tone, and writing level are very comfortable for the student The Step-by-Step Procedures are well liked by the students." "All supplements are being utilized in our course. The Powerpoint presentations are instrumental when it comes to visualization aspects. The workbook works well in the development of student study guides for quizzes and test. The test bank saves a lot of time for the instructor and the ability to pick and choose within the test bank makes it especially nice." "I am very impressed with the step by step procedures and the artwork. It is very obvious that the author is a true professional. The scenarios are very relevant." "[The strongest units are] Section 1 and the units on framing. The units are clear and understandable for the newbies coming into the field [The Vogt text is]straight to the point, not any embellishing. Written at the proper grade level."
