Brand: Royal & Langnickel
- Perfect set of people learning and who have master the art of sketching with pencils. With pens, that is a different matter.
- The set includes everything for doing black and white drawings. This is just about all one can do with graphite pencils. Though, a lot of people have made great art with just different shades of gray.
- For those that do not know, the H and the Bs refer to the different ranges of hardness. The harder the lead pencil, the darker the intensity one gets from the sketching pencil.
- Anyone desiring to learn to draw must first master the pencil! Once you develop hand to eye coordination you can move onto pens and color pencils.
Details: I have been using Royal and Langnickel pencils for what seems like ages. I could give another type of sketching pencil a shot, but I dare not press my luck. I usually get marry to whatever product I find useful. I met these types of pencils in high school and we have been together ever since. That's almost a decade, and it's 10 years longer than in any relationship I have ever been involved with. I could rant about the shape of the pencils, the lead and durability is what matters. I am a bit clumsy at times, specially when I lose track of the eraser. So, when I drop the pencil, the lead tends to not break most of the time. Other pencils, its like 100 percent of the times.

I would recommend the rolly sharpeners, like the ones you see in the classrooms. I don't know if they have a specific name.
