Details:
I had originally got this paper pad as part of a larger set. However, I decided to talk about the individual paper. I have made great use of the paper. To save money I painted on the other side of the paper. The acrylics do not bleed through the paper. As such, you can use both sides of the paper. You can make more of the same set. Think of this as buying two for the prize of one. Ideal for painters on a tight budget.

How absorbent is the paper pad?
The paper absorbs water like a sponge. So put something heavy on top of the painting while drying to keep it from curving up.
-
Does this paper work well with other mediums?
I have used the paper with pencils, and watercolors. Since it is a heavyweight paper, it can handle other types of wet medias. However, it was mostly designed for acrylics.
-
Does the paper require any type of preparation before painting?
The paper is already acrylic ready. So, I did not have to do anything to get my acrylics to stick.
-
Is this paper rough like Canvas paper?
The paper is pretty smooth and not rough at all, nothing like the surface of canvas paper.
-
Is it hard to remove the individual sheets?
The paper pad was designed to stay within the wires. I would recommend an art knife, instead of a scissor to remove the paper. Pulling at it, might risk damaging your artwork. Its best to first remove the paper, before starting to paint, this is assuming that you plan to hang it somewhere once you are done.
-
I want to use this paper to make birthday cards, would this paper be appropriate for such a project?
This is a really heavy weight paper and it doesn't soak through. I know because I have been a bit cheap, with my paintings. I have painted on both sides of the paper. So, It would work for your painted birthday cards project.
