The first one is Afro Samurai. It is kinda futuristic. It starts normal enough until the cyborgs show up. Bleach is more supernatural. It becomes a bit of a vs thing in later season.
The plot is mainly to move the characters from action set pieces, to action set pieces. Drifter is an Isekai show made by the creator of Hellsing. Warriors across time and space are made to fight for reasons that don’t quite make sense.
Gibiate features samurais fighting mutants in the future. Samurai 7 is just like the movie, except that it features giant armored cores as the bandits. Samurai Champloo is about the journey. They are looking for a samurai that smells of sunflowers.
Samurai Deeper Kyo is quite different from the manga. They got rid of all the scenes of the weak personality type. They found Kyo to be more interesting. Samurai X is about a samurai that is now trying to stop killing.
