Monster Ranchers feature trainers managing 1 or a team of fighters. The fighters can be monsters, magical humans, demons or mechs. The first one is Digimon. Digidestines control digimons to battle against other digimons.
In order seasons, they become the digital monsters. It is more or less amusing. Although, the quality drops from season to season. Fate Stay Night has a thin plot to excuse the battles. It is a battle royal of magic users and their summons.
They are trying to get the holy grail that grants wishes. Medabots feature humans controlling little robots. If they win the battle, they get a robot part from their opponents. A fun and easy premise, but they wrote themselves into a corner.
The main character has to win. Megaman NT Warriors is the only good adaptation of a Megaman game. It is a bit like Digimon since most of the action takes place in the internet.
There are plenty of cameos from all the other characters from the megaman series, including Zero and Protoman. Rozen Maiden are dolls fighting other dolls to become the ultimate doll. Yugioh was nuts before the invention of duel monster.
Zatch Bell is another battle royal. The human has a bit of agency. He activates the spells, and issues commands like a little pokemon. It is more or less amusing. Zatch wants to be a peaceful King, but he needs to get his crown by overkilling his opponents.
