Today, I wanted to show you some nice paintings featuring Turkey. Last year, I did thanksgiving.
Now, we are going to look at the center bird. The Turkey is Native to the US. It was exported into Europe in the 1550. It started appearing in art around the baroque period.
It eventually became so common place that practically every impressionist painter had at least one Turkey painting.
The Turkey was ironically more commonly painted in Europe than in the Americas. It only started gaining prominence after the American Civil War.
Back then, Thanksgiving was a celebration that commemorated the end of that war. Overtime, the myth of the pilgrims got added into it.
Anyhow, here are some nice paintings featuring Turkeys by various artists. I hope you find these works of art amusing.
