I finally got around to making another Valentine’s Day themed drawing. This one features a couple dancing tango. I thought it was an interesting romance type of anime drawing.
I used a photograph as reference. I then changed the humans for anime characters of my own design. I also changed the color of the tuxedo from black to blue.
I think the blue tuxedo adds a little bit of color to the anime drawing. As with these types of marker drawings, they come with a Youtube video. They are going to be embedded in Artsy Sister as soon as I upload the drawing to the Youtube.
The next type of holiday themed drawings are going to be St. Patrick’s Day. I might draw a few leprechauns or just anime girls in green clover outfits. This is all planning for the future as all.
I have a particular way of drawing my characters. I tend to start drawing the torso. I then work in the limbs. The last thing I draw is usually is the head, and then hair.
If you start with the head, you run into proportion problems while making the drawing. The torso is the best place to start. You can easily angle the other body parts with the torso in place.
This helps prevent making a drawing that doesn’t fit the entire paper. Anyhow, this brings me to my second drawing. I drew a goldfish little mermaid. I used a goldfish as reference for the fish parts.
I thought it would give my mermaid some nice colors. I think this is about it as far as my drawing is concerned. I am just trying to keep things fresh around the edges.
