This is one of the longest little projects we have been working on. It is my first graphic novel. I have been working on it with my brother for about 8 years or so. It was an extremely slow process at first. I wasn’t a great mangaka artist. As such, it would take me a week to produce any quality work. This lack of skill is not noticed in the final results. I would make it amassing, even if it took a while. These days I can make a fancy page in about a day. As of now, I have been taking a sabbatical with this graphic novel. I am focusing on my pottery, and my clay works. I am just joshing you. I am just making up things as I go along. I am working on a new comic project. It is drawn 4 panels, per page at a time. I am of the theory that the panel shape should not matter. I completed one graphic novel in that style already. Like you already know, the Chiblia is drawn in such a fashion. My second project is not going to be too long. Just a little passion project. Hopefully, I will complete it in order to get back to the Furies.
As for this page, it features the protagonist meditating. While he meditates, he is walking through the labyrinths of his mind. The little dragon is one of his two familiars. She is a little luck dragon that grows in size depending on her owner’s luck. The outfit is one of those Greek Togas. He was in ancient Greece at the moment to fight in the Trojan War. Almost everyone got drafted to fight in such a pointless war. Then again, this is all metaphors and similes. When a poet writes a historical narrative he is bound to doll it up a bit. Even before he started, he asked the Muses to inspire him. You do not need inspiration if you are telling a true story, I suppose. Most of the Greek stories in the classical period were all fancy. It was only after the Hellenistic period, when the stories became somber. No longer did the Gods featured in the foreground. The suffering of humans became the focus point of all those Greek plays. I read a couple of those plays while I was at University. They were all familiar stories. It was always before Troy and after Troy with their business.
The Romans too wanted to imitate the Greeks and their nonsense. The poet Virgil did his own version of the Iliad and the Odyssey in the form of the Aeneas. All in all it was a mess. My birthdate has been a bit of a pain. The air conditioner started fudging up, and I fear we might have to replace it eventually. The douche who sold us the house gave us an air conditioner from the stone age. It worked dandy for like two years, but now. Still, we knew we would have to replace it eventually. The day is just slowly dragging on, and I am not in a particular mood to do anything too serious. Well, let us just wrap this up, in the usual fashion. The paper pad I used to make this anime drawing is a medium type paper. It is from the brand Strathmore. To make the sketchy version, I used a paper mate mechanical pencil. I then traced over the lines using my Sakura Pens. I then erased the pencil lines with my pentel eraser. This is just some of the manga projects we are working on. I occasionally write in we, because my bro works with me to make a finished product. See you then.
