These are the last slug paintings for a while. I ran out of ink art paper. So, I will not be making ink paintings.
I am going to switch to pouring paintings now.
For now, let us focus on my new Sea slug paintings. The first painting features a Spanish Shawl.
That is legit the name of that little slug. It is found in the Gulf of California and the Galapagos Islands.
They are hermaphrodites. On rare occasions, they do self-fertilization. The second painting features a pink Nudibranch dorid.
She has the same Barbie pink colors. This is why I chose to paint him.
Like most slugs, she is both male and female. They die in captivity. That is all I was able to find out about them.
The paintings were done with pixiss ink and paper.
In the first artwork, I painted the purple and lavender body first.
I used a lime green color for the background. I added the tentacles last.
The second painting features the barbie pink slug. I painted the body and background next.
The bib I added with metallic silver ink.
With that out of the way, I added the tail colors.
I think it came out alright.
I made a short and a video for both my Artsy Sister Tiktok and Youtube channels. Go check them out if you like.
