I did a new podcast. The theme was kissing paintings. Kissing in western art was limited to religious subjects.

It was just the Virgin kissing her son or Juda kissing Jesus. Kissing in a romantic sense was taboo. As the Catholic church went out of fashion, kissing became more prominent.

This was truer when the Neoclassical period started. Once we got to the modern days, kissing was no longer taboo.
