Romance paintings are pretty similar. Kissing only became more common in modern art. It was rare to see a couple kissing.
Then again, kissing was something intimate. A painting was consider prude if it showed behavior commonly seen in the bedchambers.
Flirtation paintings became popular in the Rococo period. They got a resurgence in the 18th century. All in all, I wanted to show you a healthy display of romance.
