This is one of the raw pages from my new Scary Cat book. The first part of the book features a bunch of fun activities one can do in a birthday. I tried to keep it all varied. In this page, they are just playing hide and seek. It is a kid’s birthday party after all. If you look in the background, you will see the birthday mime. It is the first time he appears officially in the book plot. I thought it would be funny to have him as a background character. In the foreground, there is the birthday...

The Stroh Violin looks like the love child of the Violin and the Trumpet. All joking aside, I am going to tell you a little something about this fun looking instrument. This London instrument was invented by John Stroh in 1899.  This instrument is much louder than the common violin. It was created in order to make recording the sound of the violin easier. It became quite commonplace in all recording studios, by the 1920s. It was eventually displaced when record companies switched to electric microphones. This is my latest anime music instrument drawing. It was made with coloring pencils and fineliner pens. The Kytyapi is a Philippine two string music instrument. It belongs to the lute family. It is made with beeswax and softwood. The instrument is pretty old, and there are records of its existence as far back as the 15th century. The instrument either keeps the beat, or it can be played melodically. I hope you find this little bit of information useful. This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, Bye and God Bless.

The musical bow was invented in the year 13,000 BC. It is one of the oldest music instruments in the world. It was first depicted in cave drawings in Trois Freres, in France. The depiction of the instrument was engraved into the walls. This instrument is said to be the ancestor of the lute, harp and lyre. The oldest surviving music bow is called the Ravanahatha. It was made 5000 years ago in India. The instrument is played by plucking or by using a second bow to play it like a violin. It usually resonates with a gourd. The instrument...

I made a new sketch featuring the Esraj music instrument. The instrument was made in India, about 300 years ago. It is very similar to a Sitar. Only that it uses a bow. The instrument is a modernized version of the Dilruba. It was a smaller version, that made it more convenient to be carried on horseback. By the 1980s, the instrument was barely played. It regained popularity through the Gurmat Sangeet movement. The Rabindranath Tagore made learning this instrument a requirement. These days this instruments is pretty well known in India. I hope you find this information useful. This...
