Candy Cane Spanish Girl circa 1652
It has been quite a while since I did image blogs. In this website, I am trying to focus on my own work or whatever. The originality of my website is a must, for serious reasons or whatever. Anyhow, I do not need to go into detail about my process. I am just trying to enhance your shopping experience or whatever. Everything you need to make an anime drawing like this one can be found here. The pens are Staedtler. The small lines were made with a Prismacolor pen. I used it to draw the skin. The main coloring was...
Londoner Girl in a Cute Dress from the 1850
This is quite the cute little girl I drew. The pose I looked it up in the internet. I find poses online all the time. It is a bit of a shorthand since I don't have a brat to sketch from life. I could design unique poses, but I do not have the time to bother with it. There is only so many poses people can sport. Bizarre poses do not work well when showcasing dresses. The dress itself is nothing to expensive. I just like the cute lines and the polka dots in the socks. When I was small,...
Little Girl in a Blue Dress 1880
This is a cute little drawing featuring a girl in a blue dress. It is a bit simple with patterns all about. It was just a little something simple I felt like drawing. It is very rare to see a proper lil kid drawing. Most children drawings and animations tend to look like little dwarves. Since they can't make them look realistic animators then lean towards cartoony children. It is a real mess. Meh, I got nothing else to ramble about. I also started using fine liner pens with black ink. This masks the pen a lot, especially in black...
French Maiden in Pink circa 1870s
Here is a nice little maiden in pink. I like pink a lot, it's like my favorite color. I rarely see anything good in pink. Designers tend to avoid it like the plague. The shade of pink in this dress is known as bubble gum pink. The red was like a nice contrast with the lighter shades. The entire ensemble with the gloves and the flowers was pretty common in Parisian party life. The French impressionists were to prominent in popularizing leisure. It was a direct response to the factory life that surrounded them. People needed a break from time...
Art Nouveau 1880s English Maiden
Here is a cute maiden in a fancy dress. The dress was inspired by Japanese prints. This was part of the sensibility of the art nouveau period. One can easy see the transition to dresses of the 1920s. The dresses became flat, and the feminine figure was no longer outline. Corsages were thrown away and now dresses had to be comfortable. The dress became a flat canvas for illustrator to paint on. This was part of a new trend related to the patent wars of fashion designers. They were in the middle of trying to make a profit. Dresses were...
