Annibale Carraci was a wonderful baroque artist. He is mostly know for his Farnese ceiling Paintings. These paintings feature scenes from Virgil’s Metamosphosis. That book told tales of the love of the gods. For our purpose, I featured a few of his Greek paintings. Some are from the Farnese ceiling. The first painting shows Diana. She was awaken by a faun. As it happens, whenever I get bored of rating popular culture, I rate some paintings. Today, I wanted to feature the artwork of Jose Royo. He is a Spanish Impressionist artist. Diego Velazquez Baroque Painter
Diego Velazquez made his painting career as a court painter. In his early years, he distinguished himself for his genra paintings. That was a type of painting theme that focused on the poor. Once he made a name for himself, some influential friends helped him become the court painter of Phillip IV. Above, we see Velazquez's earliest painting. It is simply a profile of a man.
