I made a video blog of this painter. You can check it out in my Artsy Sister Youtube channel. Please give a like and subscribe.

This painter was a contemporary of the impressionists. Since he was a Salon painter, he lies forgotten. His students are far better known. He had hundreds, and most of them American.

He would use his influence to get into the Salon at least one painting of his students. This gave them some much needed exposure.

He also taught them how to make money from their artworks. Above, you can see 1 painting of some of his most famous students. There is also two artworks by one of his last students Henri Matisse.

Bouguereau taught his students the importance of rendering the female body well. Even in collage paper form, Matisse remembers everything his teacher taught him.

He also learned the importance of complicated angles. I hope that you find these paintings amusing.

The students featured in this blog are Cecilia Beaux, Jefferson David Chalfant, Eanger Irving Couse, Anna Elizabeth Klumpke, Lawton Silas Parker, Frederick Judd Waugh, Elizabeth Jane Gardner Bougerough and Henri Matisse.

The top paintings were made by Bougerough. I hope you find this art blog amusing. I need to come up with a new lecture to talk about.
