Anime Girl Playing the Cello

In this drawing, I feature a maiden playing the Cello. The cello is like a very big violin. It has a nice, sad type of music to it. I frankly enjoy a lot better the sound of the cello.
The violin is a little too upbeat for my taste. As to be expected, the Cello is a pretty common orchestral musician instrument. It gets about the same attention as the violin.
There are less cello players mainly because of the size of the instrument. The cello was invented around the 1530s. It belongs to the violin family. Some of the few oldest surviving cellos where made by Andrea Amati.
The Cello started gaining popularity when it was used in Orfeo in 1607. Most of the orchestra music made specifically for the cello started popping up around the 18th century.
These days, all the orchestra have at least 12 mandatory cello players. It does get sometimes a solo treatment. There was even a super sad movie about a cello player called The Soloist.
You should see that movie if you want to enjoy good cello music, and get depressed while you are at it. Like all instruments from the violin family, there is a known Stradivarius version of the cello.
The Stradivarius is a famous 17th century violin brand, named after Antonio Stradivari of Cremona. The cello he made is called Duport Stradivarius. The cello was reportedly played by Napoleon Bonaparte.
So, that is an interesting factoid about the so called best Cello ever made. As for the drawing I made, the girl was drawn with fine liners and coloring pencils.
For these simple drawings, I tend to use like normal coloring pencil and stuff. It is a little drawing series I made for practice purposes.
