Today, I wanted to write about my visit to Chichen Itza. We had just finished roaming about the Cenote Hubiku.

Visiting these pyramids was part of the Chichen Itza excursion. We left the bus in order to make it the entrance.

It didn’t take much time for us to become aware of the heat. It was two in the afternoon; the sun was cooking all the tourists alive.

We rendezvous with our group in order to tour the Pyramids. There was a short walk through a small, wooded area.

It is important to remember that they pyramids had been swallowed up by the Jungle. This spot also had all the souvenir stands.

I wanted to linger there a bit, but we had to stay with our group. I took a few photographs of the Chichen Itza pyramids.

The guide ranted about Quetzalcoatl. He was a Celtic, Viking, Scandinavian or Saiyan traveler that arrived in Mexico.

If you ask the Mayans about the flesh and blood man, Quetzalcoatl was blonde, with blue eyes. Columbus isn’t the first white guy to step foot in the Americas.

So, instead of Columbus Day, we should celebrate Quetzalcoatl Day. He taught the Mayans agriculture, architecture, arithmetic and medicine.

The Mayans deified Quetzalcoatl due to all the useful teachings he gave them. He also taught them about human sacrifices, so, we can say that the glass is half empty.

According to the guide, the biggest Pyramid is called the Pyramid of the Sun. The guide claims that human sacrifice where not done on a daily basis.

Whenever it stopped raining, the Mayans “sent” a human warrior to ask the Gods to make it rain.

Considering the blistering sun, I was starting to understand that sentiment. I would have lopped someone’s head off just to have a little bit of shade. I am kidding. Ok.

We attempted to make it to the second pyramid, but we were overcome with the heat.

Since I had all the initial symptoms of a heatstroke, my mom decided to err in the side of caution. We left our group to walk back to the bus.

Along the way, we saw an ambulance. The ambulance was there to take away some tourists that had passed out due to the heat.

We made a quick stop to the bathroom to hydrate. I was able to deal with the heat by washing myself in plenty of water.

It is a pity that I wasn’t able to hear the rest of the lecture, but the heat was just killing me.

Even if I was in the tour for such a short time, I learned plenty of Mayan History.

I think I ranted enough about Chichen Itza.

My name is Teresita Blanco, the Artys Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
