Today, I did a solo bjd doll photoshoot. I finally got around to changing the look of my Blue Fairy bjd doll.
The wings pose a big challenge when dressing the doll. I can only have her wear two-piece outfits. Dresses require some lateral, fourth dimensional thinking.
I will deal with it when I deal with it. On the meantime, I wanted to show you how great she looks with her new jean and shirt combination.
The butterfly jeans combine well with her wings. I chose a short silver wig because it made her look cool.
The wig originally belonged to my fox dream valley doll. It works well that the dolls have similar head and body types.
It makes mixing and matching the outfits a lot easier. I am always striving not to repeat myself with the doll photoshoots.
The rest was just a matter of posing the doll. The high heels are incredibly well balanced. It is a pity that the bjd doll just wasn’t in a working mood.
She kept kicking and scratching every time I tried to get her to pose. The sitting and reclining poses are usually a lot easier to work with.
I didn’t go too crazy with the props. The bike is useful for anchoring the wings.
The wings are a heavy element that require a bit of support for them to stand up straight.
They do look beautiful on the bjd doll.
When I was picking a fairy doll, I had two options to choose from.
I could either get the doll with the traditional butterfly wings, or I could choose an alternative placement.
With the blue wings so low, she kinda looks like a mermaid.
The paint job has a shimmering quality about it.
It is quite the handwork.
It is a lot of fun to do these photoshoots every once in a while.
Aside from playing with dolls, I am looking for new publishers.
Barnes and Nobles recently agreed to publish my books.
So, I am going to be busy transferring over my 40 books to their collection.
I might even give them a new front cover.
This is ideal for folks that already have a Barnes and Nobles account.
I have also gotten back into doing pouring paintings.
They are a good way of distressing.
After brainstorming a lot, I finally came up with a plot for the new Scary Cat volume.
I could tell you all about it, but you are just going to have to wait and see.
Anyhow, I think I ranted enough for one day.
This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister.
Bye, bye and God Bless.
