Today, I wanted to write about my Cancun vacation. In specific, I wanted to rant about the Moon Palace.
I have written enough about the Barcelo for one lifetime, or two.
So, it is time to write about somewhere else.
We went to the Moon Palace on a Sunday. A guy in the airport had intercepted us and offered us a tour of this brand-new hotel.
Moon Palace is a Mexican Hotel made by Mexicans. So, it has a lot going for it.
Like any new hotel, they are trying uber hard to impress you. A car came for us and we were taken to the Moon Palace.
A nice lady whose name I cannot remember gave us a tour of the place.
We started in the lobby of the main building. On top of the bar, there was an impressive sculpture.
It was covered with orbs. On the bottom, there where glass sculptures of manta rays. It doesn’t matter from what angle you look at it.
This sculpture looked pretty amassing. I suppose it could qualify as a light or some type of lamp. Whatever it is. Artsy Sister likes it.
As I walked with the tour guide, I took photographs of whatever caught my interest. Even the bathroom décor was a treat to the eyes.
Since we were starving, we were allowed to eat at the Buffet. With the day pass we were given, we had access to all the food that was available.
We didn’t have to pay a single peso for anything we ate. More than eating, we spent our time taking photographs of the surroundings.
There where so many beautiful things to look at. I also tried out the food. I even wrote a foodie blog about it.
With breakfast out of the way, we hopped on a little golf cart to tour the facilities. We were taken to see the bedrooms.
We saw a Deluxe bedroom, and a Master Suite. Both bedrooms have their own jacuzzi. Their bathrooms do look cute around the edges.
The Master Bedroom comes with a little kitchen and a mini bar. It also has a dining table for fancy parties.
There was a cake in the middle of the table. I think it was an ornament. If it wasn’t, I wish they would have given me a piece of cake.
Once we finished the tour of the bedrooms, we drove by the pool areas. The Pool in the main palace is built like a water park.
With that part of the tour out of the way, we were taken back indoors. We saw fun scale models of future Moon Palaces.
The chandeliers on top of them where very amusing. I like the bubble décor aesthetic of the Moon Palace.
It gives an overall ethereal nature to everything. When the tour concluded, we were allowed to roam about.
The day pass allowed us to visit three different Moon Palaces. We spent most of our time in the Nizuc Moon Palace. It had a wonderful dessert bar.
I am going to rant about the dessert bar and El Manglar Buffet later. I always separate my foodie blogs from the main travel blogs.
I do that in order to cater to folks who just like to read and look at photographs of food. I am one of those folks.
It amuses me to just look at photographs of food, from time to time. I especially like to look at cakes.
The Moon Palace has an office for weddings. In the exterior, you can see the types of cakes that the cooks can make.
I think good food is the backbone of any travel experience. Even if a tour sucks, everything is made better if you fall in love with the local food that they offer.
This is not to say that the tour of the Moon Palace was terrible. In fact, it was a pleasant, amusing experience.
I am just ranting about the important of food. Once we had lunch, we continued to roam about the Moon Palace Nizuc.
We found the pool area of this hotel. From the second floor, you can actually see the ocean.
So, that is an option if you are staying in this resort.
Once we got bored of the Nizuc, we went to the Moon Palace Sunrise.
It had pretty low illumination for a Palace named after Sunrise.
I suppose during Sunrise the light is kinda dim.
All in all, it had its own unique flavor of décor. The stained glass windows on the roof where pretty cool.
I could have easy sat there all day, looking at it.
There was a bouncy house for children on the second floor. This is just about it.
Most of the restaurants and cool décor are located in the main Moon Palace lobby.
There are some stuffs in the Nizuc, but I didn’t see much in Sunrise.
Everything is a work in progress in that place. Plus, it is not as if we explored the Sunrise that much.
Mother’s feet where hurting, so, we decided to ride back to our hotel. All in all, it was a pleasant experience.
We paid the down for a vacation in Moon Palace.
So, you bet that we will be back, but not anytime soon. We need to recover from our last vacation.
We try to avoid credit card debts like the plague. That is our Ninja Way.
In any case, my name is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister. Bye, bye and God bless.
