I cannot say that Photography was a passion of mine. It was just something to do while rotting away at the beach. One day, I just started to hate getting inside the beach water. I think I saw way too many Jaws movies. Anyhow, I developed a phobia of fishes. So, while waiting for my mother and my brother to get out of the water, I started to take photos. This is one of the many photos I took while on the beach.

While in University, I took a single photography class. It was photography for journalism. If you are in a public space, people are allowed to take photos of you. Most of the law and rules I learned for my degree was about breaking the law. There was like 4 chapters on the rules of trespassing, which is a misdemeanor. There was only like one small chapter on the ethics of Journalism. As far as the US journalism market is concerned, all crimes are legal as long as it is for the public good.

This is part of the reason why I think the profession is a joke. I do not know why I got into it in the first place. I was already halfway through my major when the bad times came. Practically, all the lessons were about how the industry was dying to the internet. It seemed to me that the journalists do not want to adapt to the changing time. I suppose I cannot blame them for feeling begrudge over their loss of credibility.

As far as I am concerned, most news medias have degraded to tabloids. Everything is like the same, with a few exceptions. Then again, newspapers are not that old. It grew as an industry in the 20th century. It was already dying in the late 90s. Now, it is just downhill from here. I suppose they will still be somewhat relevant as far as the weather is concerned. I see that in the future. The only channel that people will take seriously will be the Weather Channel.

I am not a big fan of biased media that claims to be unbiased. This is mostly obvious in the Spanish channels. Since my mom still prefers Spanish, I have to watch the news on Telemundo or Univision. Both are owned by the same guy, so they are practically the same thing. They have very low content, and most of their fillers is just talking bad about the president.

This brings me back to my photography work. The photography teacher liked a good number of them. I learned how to print photos. Digital Photo series printed in the real world can get the painting treatment. You can sell them for more than a 1000 bucks, if you are interested. You can also collect them and sell them in book format. I have seen some good photography books in that department. I am not in the monetization market yet, as far as photography is concerned.

I am just trying to do the picture with the blog thing. It is an age old format of blogging. I guess I will now refer to this photo in specific. It was taken in Miami Beach. Those already familiar with my work already know that. This was the only time I saw these two girls playing on the surfboard. Most people stop doing things because they feel embarrassed, which is a pity. Miami Beach most of the time has pretty mild waves, except when hurricanes come.
