Recently, we got around to publishing our graphic novel The Furies. As before, we usually have a lot of arguments about the arrangement. It is a bit of a bother, if you think about it. We had to republish it because the color pages made manga more expensive. The stupid computer assumed that the entire book was in color, when it was mainly in Black and White. What a bother indeed. We have been talking about mirror mode and fixing the order of the panels.
Whenever I call him on something he gets really annoyed and personal. Some things cannot be helped. When doing collaborations, you are bound to run into arguments. The main issue is that we drew the first couple of volumes like the old mangas. One had to read the panels from right to left. The online chumps did not mind so much. Still, somewhere in the middle I ended up fixing it without realizing.
Now, the rest of the volumes are drawn properly. As of now, we are trying to fix the errors that I saw. Once it gets completed, we are going to send it out, once again. It is a bit of a bother, all the editions and whatnot. Still, practice makes perfect. If we see an error, it must be fixed. This is just about all the issues one finds in the self-publishing, self-editing business. The long and short of it is that my brother should have showed me the manga before sending it to the printer.
Now, I had to tell him to stop the printing press. I am just a bit mellowed out as far as things. For now, we are looking through all the pages to see if we need to fix the order of the pages. It might take a bit, but the newest version is going to look perfect. First impressions are important. For the time being, I am very busy at the moment. It is fun to do things together with my peep.
This is the front cover I painted for my manga. The skirt tends to look a bit black. I made the shading a little light. Photographing watercolor paintings is usually a bit of a bother. It does not match the original that much. The painting was done with two US Art Supply watercolor sets. Some of the colors between sets are different. This is better noted in the hue of the orange. The paints smell from time to time. This only happens when painting with Ultramarine. It has me a bit worried. Paints that smell tend to get into your nostrils and mess up your lungs.
I think I am going to wear a mask when I paint just to be safe. Still, it does seem a bit of a bother. I have been thinking of what to add to my website. I collected a bunch of brands names to add. Still, I want to diversify my products. For now, I am just thinking a bit. I take my organization rather seriously. As of now, only the collection page is the lifeblood of the search results. For the time being, we are going to have to work with what we have. The collections are pretty self-explanatory. They go by types and by brands. Hopefully, you will find what you are looking for. Moving along…
