It has been a while since I did pouring paintings. Now, it seemed like a good a time as any to try it again. I am just doing some refresher paintings. Once I get practice, I will do a more focused theme. I used dutch pouring painting technique. You just blow on the paint with a straw.   I used my leftover paints to make this painting. Since the mixture was looking a little bland, I added a few dots of pure red and yellow. I think the painting came out alright. I like the paintings better in their wet...

I did a new acrylic background for doll theater. The theme of this one was Christmas and Valentine’s Day. One half is one thing and the other a different holiday. Both events take place during the winter. So, it worked just as well. I left the hearts simplified.   I didn’t want to steal attention from the roses. Above them, I painted a couple of Christmas ornaments. I added glitter into them to make them pop. The glitter was added right on top of the wet paint. This allowed it to stick to the acrylic once it finished drying.  ...

I made a new background for my doll theater. The theme is Dia de los Muertos. I painted three giant skulls. I added a few background elements. I then painted the skulls. I used my best glitter in the making of this painting. I first drew the main elements with a pencil.   I painted over it with a metallic marker. I painted the black areas next. I used the rainbow color glitter in the black area. Along the way, I ran out of it. So, I had to make use with something else. You cannot tell much by the...

I made a new acrylic painting. I was going for a bit of a leafy feel to it. I started by painting three blocks. One red, one blue and the other purple. This helps me vary the background for my doll photoshoots. I sprayed white alcohol ink to give it a bit of a texture.   This removed some of the homogeny in the background. I painted a leafy pattern in the middle with purple acrylics. In the other two sides, I painted two stylized flowers. After looking at the painting, I felt that there was something missing.   To...

Today, I finished painting this background for doll theater. I started by painting eight white circles with white gesso. The rest I painted a light baby blue. Once it dried, I spayed some white ink to add a point of interest. This was just to randomize some of the blue patterns. I left the painting drying for an entire day. The following day I added the mosaic pattern with white ink. With that out of the way, I started painting the symbols into the white spheres.   From time to time, I added glitter into the symbols. I am a...
