Fata Morgana in Miami Beach
For those that do not know, Fata Morgana is a type of mirage. They do not appear very often. I was lucky to have taken photo of it. This type of mirage tends to distort the original, till one no longer recognizes it. They usually appear on the horizon. They are usually seen in the Polar Regions. It is fun to have been it in Florida. I guess stranger things have happened before. Perhaps, it is just a regular mirage. I think it was the latter, because the air was slightly cooler that day. Still, there was warm air from...
July in Miami Beach
Yesterday, I was in a children's birthdate party. It was the first birthdate of the great granddaughter of one of mom's friends. I went with my family to the party in a banquet hall, even though it was pouring. We were one of the firsts to arrive in spite of the fact that we were half an hour late. The party was rather pleasant, decent food and good company. It was pouring too much, so I did not bring my big camera. Also, they had an official photographer, so I did not want to crowd the place. The interesting thing...
Miami Beach on a Good Day
It has been quite a long time since Miami Beach was this crowded. Lately, it has been rather empty because of the poison algae. People do end up there, but they are still paranoid about it. All along the coast of Florida some fishes and whales have been showing up dead. The water also has a lot of seaweed. Well, I at least have photos. The past is always visible through nostalgia goggles. You can see the time of the photo was taken by the clock. It is in that hotel in the background. Well, I am just drawing a...
Photographing the Photographers
Miami Beach has a lot of public beaches. My teacher told me that if you are in a public spot, it is ok to take as many photos as you like. As long as you are not in a place where you are expected some degree of privacy, you can shoot away. Anyhow, this brings me to this photo. It is of one of many photographers who are in Miami Beach. I always find it amusing to take photos of them. They are so focus on their work that they do not notice me taking their picture. Talk about flipping...
Hotel Balcony
This is another one of my Miami Beach travel photos. I thought it looked cool, with the way I had opened the window. It has a bit of a cubism partition about it. This is the view from the Eden Rock. I took the photo just after the Hurricane Irma. I really got to stop talking about that stupid Hurricane. It was really horrible. It also did not help much that it lasted for almost two days. It was a really slow Hurricane, with really strong winds. I actually did an entire episode about it for my manga. I think...
