Miami Beach How it Used to Be 2013
I wanted to show you some old Miami beach photos. They were taken in 2013. It is incredible to think that more than 11 years have passed. I feel old. Sigh…Then again, time is relative. You are only as old as you feel. Right now, I feel like talking about something else. No maiden likes to talk about their age. Then again, nobody likes to be reminded of their own mortality. The buildings remain. However, the beach is not the same. These days you take five steps before falling into a cliff. The hurricanes took a...
Sazon Cubano Restaurant Travel Miami Beach Flans and Three Milks
Today, I wanted to write about what I ate this weekend. I went up to Miami Beach with my family. Once the rains came, we got like super hungry. So, we decided to eat at Sazon Restaurant. They are under new management, so the food is a little different. We started with the appetizers, mariquitas. They are chips made of banana. You have two choices of dip: mojo and black beans grounded into a fine paste. Mother had pork and my brother had a sandwich. Mine was made of chicken. It was really yummy, with all the elements in...
Sazon Cubano Miami Beach Foodie Restaurant Review
On the weekend, I went to Miami Beach with my family. We packed light in order to eat food after we got bored of splashing about. We chose to eat at Sazon. I have done foodie reviews of this restaurant before. It is fun to see how it changes throughout the years. Sazon has a new owner. So, the restaurant got a nice face lift. It has new chairs and decorations. Instead of a piano lady, they now have live bands. They play music in the Patio of the restaurant. This patio also includes a mini bar. It is a...
Miami Beach in the Winter 2022
This weekend we drove up to Miami Beach. It takes about an hour to drive up from Kendall. There was a lot of traffic at the entrance of Miami Beach because of Art Basil. It was the last day of that event. The Argentina Soccer team was also playing. So, there was a lot of Argentinians roaming the beach wearing the shirt of their favorite players. They all were gathering in the Manolo Restaurant. The windows were closed because they were having a private party for soccer fans only. We got parking near the restaurant. From there, we walked towards...
Artsy Sister Visits the Miami Van Gogh Exhibit
This Saturday I visited the Van Gogh Exhibit. The Exhibit took place in the Gusman Center in 174 E Flagler St. Getting to the venue was an interesting experience, in it of itself. The street in front of the Gusman Center was being repaired. We had to park a block away in order to make it to the exhibit. In Miami, they are always destroying and reconstructing streets. Even with a GPS, you still get lost because Google doesn’t know which streets are being blocked. Enough about the driving situation. The interior of the building had a lot of beautiful...
