This weekend we drove up to Miami Beach. It takes about an hour to drive up from Kendall. There was a lot of traffic at the entrance of Miami Beach because of Art Basil.

It was the last day of that event. The Argentina Soccer team was also playing. So, there was a lot of Argentinians roaming the beach wearing the shirt of their favorite players.

They all were gathering in the Manolo Restaurant. The windows were closed because they were having a private party for soccer fans only. We got parking near the restaurant.

From there, we walked towards the beach. Once we set up basecamp, we prepared to have a fun day at the beach. On that day, the beach had purple and red flags.

So, it was technically closed. Even if we could have swum in the ocean, the water was freezing. Instead of swimming in the ocean, I walked alongside the beach for a bit.

I even tried running. I saw among the seaweed a few jellyfishes. So, the water was probably full of them. The waves were pretty big. The few folks that were daring enough to enter the water had to get out quickly.

Two steps into the ocean were enough to get the water all the way up to your neck. Aside from those folks, I saw two women reading books. It was nice to see that there are still readers left in the world.

We spent a couple of hours by the beach side. When the sun began to set, we visited Manolo. You can either eat there, or you can just buy from the bakery.

We bought a few pastries, as well as some ice cream. Manolo makes its own ice cream. The dulce the leche ice cream of the restaurant is more uniformed.

I can easily say that they have the best Dulce de Leche ice cream I have ever tasted. Visually, it resembles chocolate, but trust me, it is Dulce de Leche.

This one scoop of ice cream was worth the trip. I think I ranted enough about my day. I hope you are having a fun weekend. This is Teresita Blanco, the Artsy Sister.
