This is another pair of dresses that I am working on. Before getting back to it, I want to finish my pose book. It is going to feature a bunch of maidens doing poses. As of lately, I am a bit annoyed. Some of the archaic words I use, recently got very bad meanings. As such, I have to think twice before using them. I learned English by reading old books.
I never bothered to read much of anything from this century. The last modern book I read was the Harry Potter books. I also read Ramona the Pest, Goosebumps, Dragonlance and Fear Street. My reading lapsed somewhat as the years went by. I just found modern books to be rather boring. As for old English books, I read Poe, Lovecraft, Dafoe, Twain, Greene, Nabokov, Stoker and Christie. I think there might be other books. Still, I cannot seem to remember it.
Graham Greene I suppose might count as a relatively modern writer. One of his newest works was written in the 1990s. Still, we are already 18 years into the new millennium. Now, everything that I thought was new is now pretty old. Two decades is enough to consider something old. At this rate, even Harry Potter will be considered a literature classic. Critics like old books.
Everything becomes a classic given enough time. Still, tastes change and something that was amassing years ago, is terrible by modern day standards. A good example is Tolstoy and Dostoyevsky. I read both Russian chumps. Their works are pretty boring. Tolstoy takes forever to get nowhere. As for Dostoyevsky, he starts good, but gets a bit boring around the middle. Reading books should not be a chore. I suddenly remembered another thing.
When I was little, I had the illustrated Three Musketeers books. I tried reading the book, but I found it a bit annoying. I later tried to read a book by the son of Alexandre Dumas. The son had the same name as the father. His book La Dame aux Camélias was quite lovely. I liked it from beginning to end. When I worked in the library, I got into reading a lot of books. I did not read them per say. Rather, I listened to audiobooks.
There were a lot of them in Albalearning and in Archives. Albalearning reads in both English and Spanish. Archives also did have plenty of audiobooks. Now, the website is a mess. It is no longer usable, I hate it. It was better in the old days. It kept its original concept for centuries. It was the same since the year 2000, all the way up to 2014. I just hate it so much. Then again, I hate change. Every time I see a person changing something that is not broken, I get pretty annoyed.
If it is not broken, do not fix it. People need to learn this rule. I suppose some things cannot be helped. In the old days, we used to change up the design of our website all the time. This was back when we were thefuries. Those were the days. We ended up swelling more than the profits we made. After learning plenty from our websites, we decided to open a store.
We just cannot run a charity business anymore. People tend to think that the internet is this ethereal thing. Everything has a physicality to it. Everything is saved on one server or another. Now that I think about it, this is an art website. I just got a little sidetrack. This is just about everything I used to make my fancy drawings. I used a special sketchbook that already had the 9 heads figure drawn into it. I am just done. Good day to you, my mates. I do miss using my old words. Now, everything has a new meaning and I hate it.
