Today we went out to eat for Thanksgiving. We did that instead of buying making a big family dinner.   As long as you are with your family, it doesn’t matter if you eat at home or abroad. The Texas de Brazil we went to was in Dadeland Mall.   We made a reservation to make certain that the restaurant was open. When we arrived to the mall, we started to question ourselves. The place looked like a ghost town. We called the restaurant to make certain that it was indeed open. A waitress told us to park in...

It has been a while since I wrote about Mexico. This time I wanted to show you some of the photos I took while in Xcaret. To be more specific, these photos were taken in the Temazcal. The Temazcal is a healing ritual. It comes in two versions.   You can do it sauna style, or you can do the short version if you cannot handle the heat. I did both versions at different times. It has been a while since I visited the Cheesecake Factory. I was curious to see if the menu had changed. It did change. Instead of getting something new, I got more of the same. I am a creature of habits.   We did a reservation. WE got seated pretty quickly. We ordered a few appetizers, and we ate plenty of the free bread. I took a photo of our food and drinks. We like the avocado eggrolls a lot. Mom had a margarita; I had a soda and my brother a mango smoothie.   For our main course, we...

Today, I wanted to write a little blog about my visit to Xcaret Beach. It isn’t like an official type of place. Rather, it is the beach area of the Xcaret park. You first run into a place filled with sands and chairs. This isn’t the official beach area per say. It is just a cool place to hang out. You can take photographs in the overgrown chair and hammocks. There is also a cool statue of two flamingos forming a cute little heart shape. From this area, you get a cool view of the ocean beyond.   If you...

Today, I wanted to write about my visit to Xcaret. More specifically, I wanted to focus on my impression of the Maya Cemetery. It is odd to treat a cemetery as a tourist destination. Regardless, there you have it. I didn’t linger much in the place.   It had a creepy vibe about it. Then again, most cemeteries are rather creepy, and possibly haunted. I first visited this cemetery a few years ago. It was before the pandemic. There were a lot fewer graves. This time it seemed a little more crowded.   At night, the place looked extra spooky....
