art, craft -

While walking through the city, I saw this cool looking Museum or art gallery. I wanted to go inside and see the paintings, but we had to keep moving. The photo was taken close to sunset. This shows in the odd reflection in the window. Upon closer examination it seems like an old man is being held by gunpoint or something. He is cowering in front of that strange women. He could also be exclaiming at the sight of the bizarre looking fish. The photo is up to interpretation. I am not one to look through my old work a...

dog rules, photo, st augustine, travel -

One has to wonder at the odd things one finds in shops. Its had to imagined that some of these craft items would sell. Still, the lights are still on the shop, so money has to be coming from somewhere. At least the Dog Rules sign is hilarious enough. All in all, this presentation window was by far the most interesting. It is a pity that I visited the shops close to dusk. I frankly prefer not to use the flash. The white light has a way of distorting the colors of the image. Since this is a window image,...

craft, paper house -

This photo was taken inside a little coffee shop in St. Augustine. Originally, it was the first school of the city. It was repurposed as a coffee house. Some of the old colonial furniture still remains. It keeps the little whimsical school feel. From all the tiny items, my favorite things were the paper houses. They seemed like quite the adorable little craft project. They were just sort of there, tucked in a corner. Hardly anyone giving them a single glance. I took a photo of them to preserve their essence. As with most paper projects, it does not take...

bar, photo -

This photo shows the bar of a restaurant we visited while in St. Augustine. It was near the historical fort. The tour guide from hell suggested we visited the place. He was tired of walking and so we had to stop there. It was not a half bad place. It had plenty of cookie decorations. I never drink, but I can appreciate the work put into this bar. I cannot say the date of the bar. It could be modern or from the 50s. Everything in that city was old. At least there is plenty to look at with the...

photo, st. augustine -

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US. It was founded in 1565. It is full of old architecture. It makes you appreciate the colonial buildings. A lot of them look perfect even after 400 years. Modern builders need to take lessons from the past. Most buildings made after the years 1900s have fallen already. A good portion were destroyed by man's hands, but the rest have pretty much fallen on their own.  There has been a disassociation between architects and physicist. Now people who design most buildings focus too much on the look and not whether they are...
